Woman, 63, tips off police to body in garden

A body was found last night after a woman walked into a police station and told officers that a man was buried in her garden.

The 63-year-old woman entered Cheadle Heath police station last Sunday and police found the remains yesterday after searching a semi-detached property in Reddish, Greater Manchester.

Greater Manchester police, which is appealing for anyone with information about the death to come forward, said that she had been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.

Detective Inspector Dan Clegg said: “Following a search of the garden of a property on Matlock Road in Reddish, officers discovered remains which were later confirmed to be human, by a forensic pathologist.
